Hello fellow stranger!
My name is Benedek, born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. I have been a huge enthusiast of technology and innovation since my childhood. I always loved understanding and fixing stuff like motorcycles, computers, softwares or really anything that has a logic behind them. I decided to chase a career in IT and studied business informatics while worked in data analytics and software development to gain hands-o experience. During my bachelor I realized my strength in creativity of product design and empathy in leading teams.
In February 2022 I joined the market leading swiss P2P lending company as a product owner and later product manager, where I am currently leading the design and implementation of a new strategic customer facing, API heavy web application built on state of the art technologies from plannning through release to post-release operations. Currently I'm responsible for the vision, strategy, design and delivery of the application, in which I have the help of a UI/UX designer, a data team, two fellow product managers and six software engineers.
My goal is to constantly enhance product quality by relying heavily on customer feedback and usage metrics, challenging the status quo and empowering the team to deliver the right product, the right way.
I was in the lucky situation to be aware early on, that I want to pursue my passion towards technology and innovation as a career path. I graduated from my bachelor's program in Budapest with a thesis on data-driven Agile software development process optimisation and then joined a dual-degree computer science master's with FinTech specialisation, organised and funded by EIT Digital, a body of the EU. In October 2022, I graduated with a thesis on credit risk assessment using machine learning.
I started my career as data analyst then software engineer at IBM where I realized my passion and affinity towards product management and working on product vision and strategy. My studies and work experiences enable me to dig deep into data to make decisions and to define product features on a low, technnical level as well. Going forward my goal is to not just to represent the product strategy in the team, but to be of hands-on help in the day-to-day architecture building, decision making and mannagement of the engineering team.
With my openness to technology I realized, that in order to understand my peers and be able to make data-driven decisions why keeping engineering effort in mind, I need to understand and use my complete technical background be it UX design, roadmap setting, data analytics or architecture planning. However, as I am a firm believer of life-long learning, I'm constantly learning and practicing new skills and technologies in order to be up to date and always in shape for the next challenge.
I try to spend my free time in the highest quality possible. Hanging with friends, reading and learning new skills or just going outdoors for some fun.
